Thirty five years ago for my 21st Birthday, my parents bought me a Pentax ME-Super. At that time photography was a hobby that came and went and it wasn’t until 2011 that I picked up my camera again after a change of circumstances in my life, and that was when I decided that it was photography that I wanted to pursue as a career. In 2014 I was awarded a Master Craftsman qualification with the Guild Of Professional Photographers. That year I also won the Adult Portrait category and came runner up in the overall photographer of the year competition. Since this early success my photography style has evolved into the black and white images I’m known for today and has also brought more success in International photographic competitions. Awards aside, my passion for being a lens based artist is what drives me to today - creating images with a narrative that make people ask questions is what I focus on.
I approach landscape photography in the same way always looking for a story and a different angle or detail. If i could give any advice to anyone starting up in photography it would be listen to others, learn from others, be inspired by others but always be true to yourself.
